How is the S-Pen reliability over time?

For those of you who have owned Note phones for at least a year, how has the S-Pen held up over time?
Did it still work well after 6 months of use? How about after a years worth of use? 18 months?
I am just curious how many people have found it broke/stopped working well to the point where they couldn't use it any longer. I am considering moving the to Note 5 from the S5 but am concerned about the S-Pen because it seems like the weakest part of the phone in terms of holding up to wear & tear.

With no info out there about a possible Note 5 Edge it's going to be a decision between the Note 5 & S6 Edge Plus for me. I know there are other differences between both phones the S-Pen seems like the biggest one.
