How long are you using a earphone before your ear feel uncomfortable

I like to listen to the musics with my earphones anytime anywhere.

However my ears feels uncomfortable after 20 minutes.
How long can you listen?

It seems that the over headphone are better.
The Apple earphone and sony earphone also make me uncomfortable.

Do you have any good brands to recommend ?
 
So you are having a problem with in-ear type of headphones and also apple-type of earbuds that only stay in your outer ear? I was about to recommend you to try different eartips with your in-ear headphones, but you might be just sensitive to any type of headphones that go into your ear.

On-ear (smaller earpads that stay on top of your ear) or over-ear (bigger ones that go over your ears) is the next step. I don't know about your budget or what country you are from since some might not be available on amazon in your country, but you should try these SoundMagic on-ear headphones I reviewed here: http://androidforums.com/threads/re...ar-portable-headphones-w-lots-of-pics.864405/ - only $35 and they have a great sound quality, and fold flat and inside of headband for a compact storage.

Our ear sizes are different and it differs to person to person.

The original round bud type does make your ears hurt a bit over time.

However, there are some earplugs that has a slim rubbery texture that is shaped to fit normal person's ears.
Meaning, instead of thick round earbud, they have small bulb that sticks out so its shaped more like a round cylinder triangular shape.

I've been using that shaped earplug and its really comfortable. Instead of you stuffing your ear with normal buds, these just slides in.

I would recommend you the brand, but unfortunately I was gifted by my friend who works in Telemarketing company ( Guess they know the best since they are on the phone all day )
 
When sim racing online I will wear my closed ear Turtle Beach headphones for at least 6 hours.
And when watching movies I wear them for about 4 hours.
