How long does it take for GPS to find your location?

I'm curious to know with all the other Android models how long it takes for Google maps to find your location when you go into the app?

I have a Motorola Cliq and sometimes when I go into Google maps it wont find my location or it takes a long time to get a fix on my location. Its pretty annoying.

HTC Hero - Can vary from almost immediate to 5 minutes depending on the clarity of the signals and the amount of satellites it can see.

My Sprint Hero is almost instant outside on a clear day. At worst, inside or bad weather etc., around 2-3 secs. My wife's Moment takes longer, but not much since the CL14 update.

On my Moto Q9 WM6 - average 7-8 minutes, never indoors.

On my Samsung Moment - average 15-30 seconds, often indoors.

Was a shock, the tower assist helps alot it seems.

Very quick on the Droid. A couple of times it hasn't been able to get a lock and I've had to do a PRL update.

Ok so its safe to say that not all Androids are slow like mine is.
The other interesting thing I found out is The app "places" can find my location with gps faster than google maps..

Maybe when the 2.1 updates roll out this might improve..
