How long does it take tablets to die if you don't use them?

If you've seen at least some of my posts you might know I have an old Nexus 7 that I don't use anymore. I keep it powered off along with my Kindle fire, which I also don't use. Does that make them die faster? And if so, how much faster?

But I've heard that if tablets aren't used often then they'll die faster

But it kind of makes sense, they say that tablets and devices are meant to be used often, and if they aren't then they can die faster apparently.

I was thinking about this some yesterday, and thought maybe you didn't know what I meant by 'die'. Not as in it going to 0%, but it not working anymore.

Li-ion is my battery choice.

FYI actually Li-Ion are basically the same as Li-Polymer, it's really just the way it's packaged is different, so what applies to one, applies to the other. Li-Ion cells are typically cylinder or round button, Li-Polymer cells are usually flat in phones and tablets, but can be made into any shape.

My daughter and son have two kindle fire tablets they use once or twice a year. My daughters (age 5) daily driver is a Samsung tablet running android 4.0-4.1
The battery goes 100% to 0% in one to two hours. It then takes a good three to four hours to charge

Why the heck does a 5 year old have a device?

Why the heck does a 5 year old have a device?

My son's elementary school gives each child a chromebook, even the kindergarteners. They can only use them in school.

The 5th graders are allowed to take them home. My son is in 5th grade and has to carry it around. His teacher will take it away if he's browsing on something not pertaining to the lesson.

She and her brother have had one since they were one and two years old. They learn to trace letters, they learn puzzles the alphabet. We limit them to two hours a day with the tablets

Well really that depends on where you store it.... If the conditions are right it'll last a long time. of course batteries tend to degrade over time no matter how you store them.

I guess in answer to OP's orig. question...

That depends how many Rocks you throw at it. if you find a cinder block, that'll kill them pretty quick...

LOL

One time, I had a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and it sat for a while because I couldn't get it to boot. After about 3 months, I gave it a try and it booted up again.

You just never know unless you try.
