How long will my battery last before I need to replace it?

I have a Galaxy Tab 4 Nook and use it a lot, Every day. I am wondering Approximately how long these batteries last before they need replacing...

Batteries should last at least 2-3 years. Unfortunately over time batteries don't hold a charge as long.

Is yours not lasting very long?

Battery life for any device is going to be a variable based on several different factors. How often do you charge it? Do you run the battery down to single digit numbers or always give it a charge when it's at 33%? Or 50% Or whatever? Is your charging adapter a 1 amp charger? Or 2 amp charger? Do you generally keep your Nook indoors in a more or less stable temperature or is it with your throughout the day where it might be exposed to a wide variance of temps? (battery longevity can be affected by really cold and really hot conditions.)

the battery will give its' best service when kept above 40%, and even better if you keep it in the top tier of 60% or more..... if a charger is near, plug it in.... doing so can make that battery last a decade or more.

I have a Galaxy 'S' phone that is now 6 years old with the OEM battery and it is still doing quite well. it is a spare I keep handy, and it has been pressed back into service several times in emergency situations.

If your battery is removable you should replace it after two years. Otherwise you will have to charge it more often. My Nexus 7 still runs on the original battery but it only lasts like 3 hours instead of 6 or 7 hours when it was new.

Should be a minimum of two years I think. I had a Macbook battery last 7 years with daily use before it started bulging, then I disposed of it, and just kept the laptop for mains power only.

that is like listening to the Car Salesman, buy a new car because the warranty is almost over.....
nope, not buying into that pitch.

Likes all around :thumbsupdroid: Thanks so much for all your replies! Yes, I take care of my tablet, never run it down too low, never expose to extreme heat or cold, etc. And yeah my battery is working fine and lasting a loooooong time... I had just wondered how long they last. Thanks again!
