I agree with both previous postings. This device is great, especially with the KB docked to it, but if you want the latest and greatest then perhaps you should get the TF700.
Doing your 'homework' (which is what you're doing) is the smart thing to do (IMHO). Then after serious consideration go with the device you think is best for you,.....and then enjoy it. Don't be too concerned about the fact that the device you bought will no longer 'top dog' because that is inevitable and unavoidable.
Just for your information, I did a lot of research and study before buying my first Android device. I bought my SGS (GTI9000) about a year and a half ago. It still serves me well and I'm still pleased with it in spite of the fact that the SGSII came out. I feel the same way about my TF Prime. I did my research and decided that this is the tablet to have. I'm quite pleased with it and I'm not interested in (or worried) about the TF700.
Like I said, my suggestion is decide what it is you really want, then get it, and then enjoy it for as long as you like.
