Help How Reliable is GPS?

I am considering a One X with AT&T but have some hesitations about the phone's GPS performance. I have seen a few negative reviews surrounding GPS bugs--either not getting a lock or the gps position randomly oscillating while the phone stands still.

Has this issue been fixed? Seems like most of these reviews/comments surfaced when the phone was first released. Can anyone comment on the phone's GPS reliability?

thanks!!!!

Agreed with Wilkas. I've used mine in the car several times, the Navigation application inside the CAR application, and it worked flawlessly with no lock issues or anything. Bear in mind I am using stock kernel, some custom ROMs with custom/repacked kernels have been known to have some minor GPS issues and there were fixes released.

The One X has the best GPS of all my HTC phones.
Even in my house, near by windows, now I get satellites lock :)

My first 1X had the GPS issue, but they replaced it and now works great, I use CoPilot on mine if thats any help.

My one x has never had a problem had a problem locking on to gps. The built in car mode is great. I recently have been trying the CarHome Ultra app. It has been great and offers some more features and customization. The app has a 30 day trial. The GPS on this phone has been rock solid. I am using CleanROM with elemental kernel on my phone and haven't had any issues.

Mine works perfectly & thats using the completely free OsmAnd app with maps stored on the sd card, no data connection needed.

Well just to add a dissenting voice - I did have an issue with a jumpy GPS on mine. However, I had an early one which developed the WiFi issue. HTC repaired it no fuss, and its been fine since then.

I understand that this issue only affected the first batches of one x - they have apparantly changed the way they make them so newer models should be fine.

The first two I got from Orange had the GPS problem - bouncing around even when the phone was still - but the third one works fine. I love the phone, and Orange swapped them out without any trouble until I got a working one, but if I had it to do over again, I'd have looked harder at the Galaxy S3.

I've never had a problem with mine, and I got mine maybe 2 weeks after they first started selling them... It always fixes on really fast and works well as a navigation aid

Drove through the UK and Europe earlier this year on a road trip and the my One X gps never let me down once using Sygic satnav software :D

My One X gps is great, very accurate and fast. With the predown loaded Google maps it is great. Also very good for finding atms, restaurants, bars.
