I dont have a laptop only a phone and android powered tablet. I want to set up internet banking and an ebay account but im worried about the security. If i use a visa card instead of a debit card will this be safe enough?

I use my bank's official/approved app and have my cc hooked up to both Google Wallet and PayPal.

I am pretty careful about what sites I buy from, nothing shady for me. I do use Ebay though.

See im gettin a better response from you guys then others i spoke too. Some said they wouldnt risk it with android. Its the nat west banking app im thinking of using and putting a visa number in my ebay account.

I use my bank's app, it's great.

eBay directly? No way I'd trust anything there. If you must buy there, use PayPal - and never fall for the dodge that if you make it a gift, they'll cut taxes or shipping.

When you sign up for PayPal add your credit card as the payment method.

When you sign up for Ebay don't use their direct payment method/credit/whatever it is. Use PayPal when you make purchases.

And be sure to have secure and different passwords. It's all about password safety :)

I used Ebay (along with Aliexpress and Tiny Deal) and just use my Visa card for payment. Some places on Ebay say they only use PayPal but when you go to pay it allows you to use your own credit card without joining Paypal. Paypal somehow, in these instances, still get used and they email you trying to get you to join, but I don't. And the sale goes through ok.
I was a member of PayPal about 7 years ago and got "spoofed" for over $3000 due to a bogus email I got from them telling me to update my details. I was at fault here and after about three tranactions of $900 PayPal decided there was some strange going on with my account. After many months and emails etc etc I was able to get these payments reversed . Therefore I have no faith in PayPal. Most banks will look after you if you get onto them instantly.
Never used my phone though but it looks like it would be ok.

Hi

Never had an issue buying online with a phone or using banking apps (Credit Agricole, France), BUT, I always use a VPN connection if I'm not at home on my own wifi....I don't think its any more "dangerous" than using a PC.
