Heeeelloooo!! :)

Guys... I am in a bit of a jam right now!

:(

I don't know how to compile an ipa (basically an iPhone Application file) for Windows?

I want to try and make some software for my iPhone but I really don't want to fork out a bazillion rands or sell my left kidney just to buy a Mac.

Now I remember why I don't like Apple's ethos... if you don't buy a stupid Mac then good luck to you for trying to build applications for the iOS.

Apple really do make amazing stuff just wish the "Apple must rule the WORLD" crap I wish would just go AWAY.

Anyway.

I need some one to help me out here please!

From what I have gathered, iPhone software or what they call .ipa's some are written in C++ and some other stuff right like Java Script?

I am not really that interested in the other stuff just interested in C++ and JavaScript because I can do a little of C++, not a guru in C++ by any means but I can code in it sort of okay.

I am not a guru in C++ by ANY means!

Just know some basic Boolean and other random stuff and comments etc etc etc

Any who

In a nut shell I just want to write / code any type of ipa / iPhone software and compile it on either Windows or Unix / Linux.

****LINUX WOULD BE FIRST PRIZE!****

It would be great if I could run it on Linux that would be first prize by a long shot!

But I really don't know if there is a compiler for even Windows never mind freaking Linux!

I need a guru to help me out here!

I did try searching the web but got some stuff that was over my head and I couldn't figure it out! :(

I am running Mint 13 and would be first prize if I could be up and running on Linux.

A REALLY big Thank You to any one who can lend a hand even if you don't know the answer!

Hell any help would be great right now and highly appreciated!!

And I don't want to go to a silly Apple Forum because those fools will just tell me to get a Mac as if I am MADE of money!

I don't waste more money buying a Mac just want to make do with what I have got!

I do understand that I more than likely will not have the full control / power of my device as other coders have with the actual iOS SDK running on a Mac but I just want to start with the "Hello World" Application and see what I can do.

Ahhh I almost forgot something!

Does any one know if the 3GS is capable of OpenGL ES 2.0??

Just would like to know for interests sake because it does have a Cortex A8 under the hood!

Thanks guys!

Regards

lol!

Guys! :D

Come one some one has gotta know the answer(s)?????????

:-(

Someone?

ANYONE!!?

xD

looool

I am going insane!

Yaaaay!

Rejoice!

I tried to search the interwebz but found jack shit.

SERIOUSLY there has GOT to be a way!! :)

Where there is a will there is a way! :D

Maybe not this time lol :)

lol I dunno what to do! :D

Yak yak yak!

If Apple doesn't have an iOS SDK for Windows you're pretty much SOL on building iOS apps using a non-Apple computer.

Plus Seriously? You gave THREE HOURS for people on an ANDROID forum to answer a question about building apps for APPLE devices...

You could always go this route... Hackintosh Instructions, Hackintosh How To Guides @ Hackintosh.com to run OS x on non-apple hardware, but it may still require a new computer build.

Hehe :o

Ja sorry my sense of humor can be a bit... "over the top" at times.

I like to joke quite a lot! :D

I like to be a joker or whatever you like to call it but sometimes I am just not that funny.

Any who doesn't matter I guess!

No worries! :)

Are you 500% sure there is NO WAY to compile apps for Windows other than running Hackintosh on VirtualBox or dual boot???

I don't mind doing this... but then I have to pay MORE money for Mac OS Ten / 10?

OS x is very very very very expensive in SA.

For ****s sake this sucks!

This just really sucks.

NOW I remember why I don't like Apple and their controlling ways, and I was too stupid to think there was some kind of work around without even thinking about it.

Damn I can be a very very dumb / stupid at times.

Anyway I don't want to turn this into an "I hate Apple thread" there a billions of them already and they are very meaningless in my opinion.

JUST DAMN IT MAN

Man this really really sucks!

There has GOT to be some way!

I do like Apple products thats why I got my iPhone in the first place, and I don't want to sell it!

I was looking around and found some stuff though but there is nothing for Linux?

There is something called Xcode apparently that is what appears to compile the source code into machine code or basically make an .ipa?

Also... how do I install the application with out freaking iTunes?

I am already Jailbroken and maybe I can upload to the Cydia repositories and by pass all the itunes madness perhaps? :(

Ahh man this really does suck!

NO I am not giving up on this!

I WILL find a way! :)

I must be positive because I am sure there is a work around?

You see I don't want to publish the software at all... I just want to try and make a "Hellooooo Woooorld" application and if I can just get it to run I would be really really happy.

I don't have to have access to all the power / resources of my iPhone I just want to fiddle a little for fun.

I just wanted to say Thank you for trying to help me at least buddy! :)

Thanks for being cool bud!

Cool stinky, glad you found your answer.

I haven't looked into it terribly, but I believe that iOS uses ... well, now I forget. For some reason I'm thinking 'O' something and C.... OOC? Is that a thing? I don't know.

But if you need to compile on linux, I'm pretty sure GCC is the standard. Though, I'm no programmer.

But good luck with your application development.
