How to access PC logs?

I would like to access records in my PC of operations made in a certain time
period. Help. please?

What operating system is it, windows?
It's Windows 7. I've accessed Event Viewer, but it seems a bit confusing. There was a time when I left my PC untended with a person who may have accessed it, if there is a workaround the password. Upon opening, I have the PC configured to require a password upon re-opening.
Could this person have broken into my PC, and can this be detected?

Yes its possible to get the password specially if its just letters. you will be able to see if it was started up at a time when you didnt start it, that info is in the event viewer. On the left side of the event viewer, click on system, look through the list of events on the right hand side.

Change the password if you havent already, include some numerals and characters such as _

In case any malware has been installed, I recommended you head over to BleepingComputer.com

As previously stated, I shut my laptop and rushed out to run an errand,
a fellow employee I don't trust still sitting right there. When I returned,
I noticed he couldn't seem to look me in the eye. Hmm. Looking in the
event viewer (system) during the time I was out, in the right-hand panel
under "source", the time span begins with "PCTCore", then a stack of, "Service Control Manager" (event ID 7036).
"Service Control Manager" dominated for most of the time I was out.
Theories?

My memory wasnt quite right. In the left hand pane, its security that you need to click on. Then on the right hand side, right click on an item, click properties. Click the downward arrow near the top right hand side to work your way down the list of events. Check if theres a successful logon at the time while you were out, also check for logon failures during that time period.

No failed log-on attempts, nothing. Thanks.

Ok, I have solved it. While you were out, he realised that he is attracted to you and due to shyness couldnt make eye contact after you returned.

Many a true word spoken in jest. Lol

by default win 7 doesnt log security audits which would show u a log of login fails and successes. unless u turned it on but doesnt sound like u did
