How to activate Menu button

SInce i got my Note 5 , i cant use the menu button for apps.
Supposedly it should work when i press and hold back button (long hold) but it doesnt.
Anyone has this issue?

It works fine for me.
I don't recall there being a setting for it.

I don't think it is the back button but rather the recent apps button; The one to the left of the home button.
