How come I can't answer my android Verizon phone when it rings?

Hi, and welcome to Android Forums!
We may need a little more information here. Usually, you should be able to answer a ringing phone simply by unlocking it, or dragging the green icon to the appropriate point on the screen depending on what phone you are using.
This brings us to the info that would be helpful here.
What kind of phone are you using? HTC? Samsung? LG?
Which model? Galaxy S4? HTC DNA? etc.
And finally, what have you tried to do to answer the phone, and what happens when you do it? Does the same thing always happen?
