How to automatically/wirelessly import Outlook/POP3 calendar

In my new job the company is using Lotus Notes from IBM as company's email client. To put in the most polite way: it sucks in every way. I can't believe POP3 is even still alive, it must be older than static html websites. Anyway, the problem is now I can't import my Outlook calendar to my Android phone so I am here to find a solution.

Even though I can setup Outlook using POP3/SMTP for email, the calendar entries I accept here in Outlook can't even be synced with Lotus Notes and vice versa. It means I can't have ONE consistent calendar. I plan to accept all meeting requests from Outlook and try not to touch Notes as much as possible. But how can I import the calendar from my desktop PC to my Android phone? Because I surely want my phone as a remainder.

IBM provides a dedicated Android app to manage mails/calendar/contacts. But I really don't see the advantage over built-in Android applications. Plus I never get a real-time mail notification from that app (the solution it has to real-time email notification is to have a lasting http connection!)

I sync my desktop Outlook contacts/calendar to an Android phone using MyPhoneExplorer - there's a client on the PC and an app on the phone. You can sync via USB, Bluetooth or, as you ask for, wifi. I use the latter. App is here ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fjsoft.myphoneexplorer.client&hl=en ... PC Client can be downloaded from here ... http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ ... English forum here ... http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewforum.php?f=6 ...

You can decide which calendar you use on the phone to sync with Outlook and I'd advise setting it so you see the 'confirmation' screen before the sync occurs, just until you know how things work! There are also some issues, sometimes, with getting a wifi connection. I sorted this by assigning a fixed ip to my phone. Not on the phone itself but via the router by using the 'bind ip to mac' function.

HTH.

Thank you Dave, I'll give it a try. Actually there is no WIFI in our office so it's good that I can sync with Bluetooth.
