I was working with Sprint tech support last night, and they wanted me to do a factory reset on my wifes new S7. She had it all set up the way she wanted it. I tried loading up Kies3, but that did not work. It asked me to use Smart Switch instead. Smart Switch did not work. As near as I can tell, you have to have 2 physical devices to even get started with that.
So, I was kind of at a loss. I backed up with google, and then backed up with Samsung. I grabbed as many files as I could off her phone in windows. Then I moved forward with the reset, which of course did not fix my problem.
In any case, I am having a hard time believing that there is no true way to backup ones S7 device. No root yet, so app store apps are not going to be fully helpful. Is there really no way to fully backup the S7? Samsung android backup/restore in general has always been lame in my opinion. No way to backup layout, app settings, etc. Not without root, and even then limited with touchwiz. I might be missing something. I hope I am which is why I am posting. Just messed my wifes phone up pretty good, and wondering how I could have done better.
