How to block data?

Sorry if this Is not the right place for this, but I need to figure out how to block all data on my daughter's phone. She has an LG Motion, and it is not rooted. I know you can just change the mobile data switch to off, but that doesn't stop someone from just switching it back on. Unfortunately we found out she just wasn't ready for data access based on some choices she has made, and I'd rather not have to buy a different, basic phone for her to use. Thanks

Well without data she can't use picture messages anymore.. But in the motion forums there is a hidden menu you can access that will turn her phone into a dumb phone and internet will be slow (like in a basic phone) thus stopping her Snapchat and tinder shenagans. And best part is she won't be able to fix it even with a factory reset....she would have to take the same steps you took on a different phone.. And know to come to this site and ask about it.. Then have to follow the steps which unless you are patient will upset you

The only way I know how to disable both network data and WiFi is to use an Android Firewall app, but most of them require root. You would need one that requires a password or lock pattern to change the settings, otherwise she could simply enable data again.

AFWall+ lists a lock pattern in it's features, but root is required to use it. You might be able to find another one that will work for you in the Google Play Store.

Although she might be able to uninstall the firewall app.

You could also try calling Metro PCS and make a request, perhaps they can kill the data. I think there are also apps out there that allow you to disable hardware, such as WiFi. Kids can cause all kinds of trouble with just an open WiFi connection or any crappy phone with a camera and MMS.

And for those reasons, it may be in your best interest to get rid of the smart phone altogether and get the crappiest handset you can find that lacks a camera or anything fun. Kids aren't stupid, and will find out that a factory reset will wipe out any soft blocks you install.
