How to Cast Amazon Prime Video to Chromecast

Lurker
I was wondering if it is possible to cast Amazon Prime videos to my Chromecast using the mobile Amazon app on my Samsung Galaxy S3. I've been able to get YouTube and Netflix working great, though I can't find much information on how to effectively cast Amazon Prime videos via the mobile app. I can't seem to get screen mirroring working either using my phone.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I think other chromecast owners will be better able to help, so I moved this question to that forum.:) I think amazon prime videos are pretty locked down on non Amazon android devices, so chances are you can't.:(

It's not possible using the Prime Video app, but as a sort of botch job workaround, if you watch videos via chrome, then cast that tab, it should work.

Apparently you'll need to switch Prime to use Flash as opposed to Silverlight to get it to work properly though.

Unforgiven is right though, with Amazon stuff being pretty locked down and the fact they'll want you to use their own media box/chromecast alternative, there probably won't be an official method for a while (if ever).

Ok, thank you for the replies fellas. If I'm interpreting this correctly; there is a workaround for Prime if using Chrome on PC or laptop, but there is no method that allows me to cast it via an app or Chrome from my phone? I have an Amazon Fire TV Stick on order so I guess I'll give that a try as it looks like it play both Netflix and Prime.

Yeah, by the looks of things.

I imagine it'll be a while before Amazon make their videos castable normally, it took them long enough to make Prime video available on non Kindle devices.
