Hi, I have been very happy with doing stuff on my Android phone (a Sony Xperia XA if you must know) such as reading the newspaper, checking emails and opening attached documents etc.
Now, I recently decided to get a tablet, because, well my eyes are getting old and the phone screen is frankly too small to read comfortably. I decided on a Samsung Tab S2 8'', because it is not too big and heavy, and I figured that all the Android apps would be just like on my phone only on a bigger screen (would be great). Wow, was I wrong! What I did not know is that Android apps are often not the same on a tablet as on a phone! (who knew? not me.) Now many of my favourite apps look different, with smaller font sizes, less responsiveness and more clutter. And I still have to squint my eyes! So disappointing!
The apps I am mostly concerned with are: Google chrome - very different look! Tiny fonts, annoying tabs that are not there in the phone version, overall it's useless on the 8 inch screen; Microsoft Word - no "phone"-adaptive reading mode - as well as the other Microsoft apps. I am sure I will find more annoying differences as I continue to investigate more apps.
My "simple" question is this: Is there any way that I can "fool" Google Play store in believing my tablet is a phone when I download apps from it? Or any other advice on how to get a "phone experience" on my Tablet?
Edit: According to the device info, the Android version is 7 (Nougat?).
Thanks..
