How to change main Gmail on Android?

How do I change my Gmail email on an android phone?
I have seen other posts on this, but none seem to be complete...is their a sticky or an external link that defines this perfectly?

So that the following work:
Market (i.e. it remembers My Apps)
Mail (not Gmail & for both emails)
Calendar (for new email only)
Contacts (for new email only)
HTC Sense for Facebook

I want to try and avoid a hard reset, so as to retain all my settings, and if I do a hard reset I can see Market not working!

No way. You can't change email. But you can reinstall android os and setup it with new credentials. Also only if you want add second mail account you can do it, just select
"add account" in you mail checker.

Thanks for your response, i ahve already done what you suggest.
I didn't make my question clear, I have to chnage the original email....so how can i do this and retain apps on market?
