Help How to change notification icons to black and white

My notification icons used to only be black and white and now some (ESPN) are showing up with color. How do I make them black and white again?

I would have thought this is purely down to the apps themselves. If they have changed their notification settings/icon you have no control over what colour icon is displayed.
