How to Change the default save location to the SD Card?

I would like to change the default save location for photos, contacts, messages and video to the SD card. Is there a way to do this, or can I only back up to the SD card?

After my motherboard died on my HTC phone I vowed never again to buy a phone that does not have an external SD card and to never buy another HTC. HTC has some serious issues with their phones, they overheat big time! Make sure no matter what type of phone you have, you back everything up.

For photos and videos, simply change the memory used in the camera application.

contacts and messages are a no go. Me, I just sync to cloud both my messages and contacts so I have no problem with them.

What cloud service are you using? Is it free?

I am backing up stuff to Gmail, but I don't know how to back up the stuff on Gmail in case something goes wrong...

My phone is syncing to Google servers, then Google syncs to Outlook on my PC, which also syncs to Outlook.com. So I basically am saved on 2 clouds.

So you are syncing it to gmail basically then right? Or another google service? I need to set up Google to sync to my outlook on my pc... Is that just through pop3, or??

Yes I'm syncing it to Google Contacts which is part of Gmail. I use a program called Go Contacts Sync to connect Gmail to Outlook.

Is there any other ap other than Go contacts that one could use for this? Or is there another way to backup the messages and contacts without using outlook? I use outlook, however, my phone contacts are not integrated into my outlook at all because I have multiple email addresses with outlook. Actually I do not want them mixed into my Outlook contacts because the people on outlook are people who are generally not on my phone anyway, so I want to keep things separate....

Go Contacts Sync is not related to the Android app Go Contacts. The former is a PC program. Anyway, it only syncs to the main account on outlook.

Another option is to use a manufacturer provided PC Suite.

You can do that in settings, I have done that before.
