Help How to Close Exit out of Peel Smart Remote App

No exit button in the app, and force closing it just spawns another. What can I do besides rooting and freezing it?

Is there an option to close it in the notification tray? Mine has a small X to tap to close it.

No unfortunately it just sits there and taunts me. Every. Day.

Open up smart remote, go to settings and scroll down, turn off "show control on notification panel" and also turn off "auto display remote control on lock screen"
