How to completely wipe a Gingerbread phone?

Hey everyone!
I have a Pantech Crossover P8000 running Android 2.2.1, and I want to wipe it completely. I've done it before and know the process but, every time I factory restore it, some things get left behind. App folders and temp files, contacts, some pictures. I have no idea why. I take the SD card out before I clean the phone, and I format the SD through my computer. So nothing should be left.

So is there a way to wipe the phone and SD card clean of everything except core files?

2.Under Settings, go to Privacy Settings and Factory data reset.

SD card you better format with PC, I may mistake but I don't believe if 2.2 have an option to format card too with reset, I'm not sayin about storage settings - format card
