How to configure default texting number?

zBernie

Newbie
I have a Moto X, and using google now, when I say "sent text to nancy jones", I'm then prompted with a home, work, or mobile phone number, none of which are numbers I want to send the text to. Normally I send texts using Hangouts to nancyxxxx@gmail.com.

Is it possible to configure the phone so I can say "send text to nancy jones", and it defaults to Hangouts and nancyxxxx@gmail.com? Then being able to speak the message would be great too, being completely hands free.

-Thanks

Despite being used by the same app now, a Hangout message is not a text, and you can't trigger it to send one by initiating a new text in the system. Same way you can't select a Hangout recipient for any other system event that tries to send a text message.

I don't think there's any way to trigger a new Hangout message using your voice right now.

Okay, if it's not possible to send text via Hangouts with voice commands, is it possible to just configure the default text addressed used, when sending a text using google now?

-Thanks
