How to Delete Icons from Homescreens?!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S and I can't figure out how to delete some icons (Widgets or Applications shortcuts) that I've put on one of my 7 Homescreens, either by accident or just that I don't want on there anymore! Please help me get rid of those icons on my Homescreens!

Press on the icon until you feel it pulse then drag it to the bottom of the scren to the "trash can "

Press and hold the Icon/shortcut/widget you want removed, then drag it to the trashcan that will appear at the bottom of the screen.
