Help How to disable apps on a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5?

Hi all,

I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5. There are some apps that I want to disable (for example, NFL Mobile, IMBD, a few other non essential ones) but when I try to, I'm asked to replace this app with a factory version.

What does that mean? If I want the app back at a future date, how would I get it again? Not all of the apps seems available in Google Play.

What you are being told is that in order to disable the app, all updates need to be removed. In essence, reverting to the app that was baked into the firmware, aka. "Factory" version. If you re-enable the app, it will update to the most recent version.

Those sound like carrier installed apps. You might just have to root if package disabler doesn't work. It does work on some OEM versions.

Samsung does permit the disabling of some system apps, but you have to uninstall all the updates first. I don't think any special app is necessary to do what the OP want's. It was just a question about the prompt. :)

You can disable any app or service exclude System Update (OTA).
It work with all Samsung Galaxy devices Without Root, but may not work with Custom ROM

I have no doubt that your app does what you claim it does. The point being that the OP doesn't need an app to do what he/she wants.

Verizon probably won't allow that since those are the carrier apps they put on. - at least the NFL one is.

Is he using Marshmallow? If that allows disable, it might work.
