Help How to disable high accuracy location service permanently

Hi,

High accuracy location service extremely decreases battery life for my phone - I guess, +- 4-5 times. This is unacceptable, because I need long battery life due to my work. Changing location settings to "device only" helps, but some programs (e.g. maps) force changes setting back to high accuracy during its usage.

Question: how to turn off this f***ing high accuracy mode permanently and restrict programs to use it? Thanks in advance.

I've never known Maps change my location mode. Of course it does sometimes prompt you to do so (Google want you to use either "low power" or "high accuracy" because those modes allow them to collect your location data constantly), but you can dismiss the prompts and it still works - this is what I do any time I see that annoying little dialogue. This is my experience with all of my devices (including my current Pixel 2, which is as Google as it gets).

You'd have to have root and modify the location service itself to permanently disable this mode - which means really knowing what you are doing.

So what apps do you think are doing this, and what phone/OS version have you got? That info might help someone work out how to stop them. But as I've said, my experience of the one app you've named is different from yours.

On my Alcatel I just go into Settings then scroll down to locations. From there it's a Mock setting that divert any accuracy of my device's location. Just say I am in Seattle, Washington but my location would show up as me being in Pensacola, Florida when I have this thing activated because it randomly send pings from different cell towers your mobile operator is connected to. But in hindsight always remember if Google is connected to it, their API system will most definitely know your current location, down to a few meters +/- 3% margin of error.

Device only works on OP5. It's accurate enough for weather and stargazing.

Maps and location disabled on phone so no problem. I know where I am, and I know where I shop.

My phone is Doogee BL5000, Android 7.0
I have bought this phone because of large accu (5000 mAh). However, I have noted that high accuracy location mode drains it like regular 3000... Same like low power mode. Another problem, that switching to "device only" mode after high accuracy does no effect since next reboot.

I need to keep location service on because I'm using GPS very often. I'm using a few navigation programs + active location based search on various sites, so I have not determined which of them switching my location mode. Could be, i can change it when agrees about location permission for any service etc. But, any case, checking for location service state continuously and reload phone after every switch simply boring very much... So, if you can explain me how to turn this feature using root, it will be very helpful.

BTW: once, after crashing of "google play services", my phone didn't needed charging almost one week.

I forgot to add with the newer devices and the United States HLS and FCC modifications on domestic and foreign terrorism Acts, these application that has been implanted in these devices are designed to uphold the Patriot Act and there is no way to totally disarm or to disabled them.
