How to disable nessaging app after installing handcent sms

Hi have installed handcent but still messaging app works in background and I dont receive any sms from any one. I have made hancent on default and kill messaging task fdom applications but after a while it agin runs and I stop receiving sms. Is there any way to stop it.

You should get in the messaging app, press the menu key to get in the settings and in there simply un-tick the "notification" option.

I think this app still needs to be running for handcent to work, although I'm not exactly sure.

Thanks foe the help I have disbled its notification hope it works now
