How to display full address path in ES File Explorer

Bob Hawkins

Newbie
I downloaded and installed ES File Explorer earlier today. I am impressed so far. One element escapes me, however: how do I display a full address path and type what I wish? Currently, alongside the three horizontal lines representing the menu, two parts of any path only are shown.

I checked and X-plore file manager doesn't have that either... at least not where you could type a full path. Seems to be a less common feature on Android than on Windows. It follows the general trend of less typing options and more tapping options available in android since typing is thought to be not as easy on phone as on pc keyboard.

1. Navigate to your file/folder of interest
2. Long press the file/folder of interest until a check box appears
3. Select the "properties" menu item from the "more" menu
4. The full path will be revealed

I initially thought that also but it unfortunately displays it in two pieces and the requested need was to have only one.

As I understand it he would like to have it display something like ...
/sdcard/tlanet/image/wallpaper/ships.jpg
and it shows it as
ships.jpg
/sdcard/tlanet/image/wallpaper/

I'm haven't updated I'm a while but the version I'm using shows the whole path with longpress > more > properties:

Ps - in case you were wondering, i just Swyped long words to make sure it didn't cut the path off

I think that the point of displaying the full path isn't information for its own sake.

If you click on the location in Windows Explorer it transforms into an entry widget at the current path.

I think that the request is for similar or equivalent behavior yeah?

On the newest version I added 2 more steps to steiny180's list to reveal the full path in another document you could use Google Notes for example. Hope this helps Bob Hawkins.

1. Navigate to your file/folder of interest
2. Long press the file/folder of interest until a check box appears
3. Select the "properties" menu item from the "more" menu
4a: Select Copy fullpath
4b: Paste into whatever writing app you use

4(c). The full path will be revealed
