Help How to Downgrade/ degrade to Eclair

I have a GT-I9000 running 2.2.1. My Froyo update came via Kies but used Odin to upgrade to 2.2.1. I am interested in flashing back to Eclair to see what update Kies will present me with. What would be the best method to do this? Does it matter which Eclair firmware you choose from Samfirmware, will Kies recognize the older firmware and know to upgrade for my devise?

Sorry, if there is already a thread about this, I could not find one for the I9000.
