How to exit or stop (other than pausing) an audiobook in progress

Hi. Today I downloaded an audiobook onto my Droid 2 and listened to it on the way to work (I walk an hour to work and love catching up on books this way).

The first section of the book has ten chapters and each chapter is considered a separate file. After chapter one finished, I returned to my file menu and began chapter two, etc.

During chapter four I arrived at work so paused it, returned to my homepage/desktop and began work. Then I hear a little voice... my audiobook was back on.

I don't know what "media app" is being used to play my audiobook... I just click on each file from a folder, so I'm not really sure how to "exit out" properly so that my files won't start up on their own like that. (I'm guessing after five-minutes in "pause" mode, the file just resumed playing automatically.

I hope I described my little dilemma well enough that someone can help me prevent this in the future.

How do I "exit" out of an audiobook (as opposed to just hitting pause)?

Thanks in advance!

Okay, I need some help... REALLY need help. PLEASE... I'm begging you!!!

The audio has started up again and I don't know how to stop it short of deleting my files (which I don't want to do).

It's probably using the default android media player which may not be ideal for listening to audiobooks. This is a guess only.

Have you considered a dedicated audiobook app?

I've used MortPlayer for other things in the past and dev has an audiobook app that may work better for you:

MortPlayer Audio Books (beta) - Android app on AppBrain

heh... thanks. I did end up downloading one (Ambling) and from now on will only listen to books with that. Ha! I'm sitting in my office and all of a sudden my phone starts talking... thank goodness it wasn't an x-rated book I'd been listening too.
