How to find firmware

I made an attempt to root my phone a while back but gave up after unlocking the boot loader. I relocked the bootloader according to spec. However I now find that i can't get any OTA updates to work. They will download but they will not install. What is the likeliest problem and can I fix it myself? The firmware number is VIE-L09C318B192.

Try turning your phone off for 10 minutes and boot it back on. If that doesn't fix it, you should do a full refresh of your phone. Just make sure to backup any files before you do the refreshing.

I have already done a complete factory reset of my phone. Three times. No matter what I do I still get the same result. During reset the phone asks for a password to access storage. After I give it the correct code it tells me the storage is corrupt and I have to reset my phone. After I go through this several times finally completes reset. But if doesn't solve anything. I am wondering if I am at the point of replacing the firmware altogether (if that's possible).
