How to fix "dead" spots on touch screen?

Hello;
I was cleaning my HTC Desire C (Cricket) touch screen, and a large spot became unresponsive. I can't make phone calls because 6 numbers are unresponsive. And to write I have to keep ok turning my phone around. I already tried to reset to the factory settings. But it did not solve the problem. Please help. I getting dizzy from flipping this phone around. Thank you.

Assuming you've tried turning the phone off and on again, I think your only option is to send it in for repair Is it still under warranty?
