Flash it back to the original ColorOS firmware via recovery, that should get you back to a properly working phone. Think a Neo 3 is a China only device. Is it an R831T or R831S, firmware is here....

As for actually properly rooting it, not a clue....good luck! Oppo Find and N series is what I know about. :thumbsupdroid: ...and FWIW there's not much useful on Oppo Forums either about this phone.

"your not properly rooted" sounds like bit of an unknown state, and if you go poking around with things unknown again, might end-up with it bricked and not working at all. That's why I suggest re-flashing stock unmodified ColorOS firmware. I just been reading about someone who apparently managed to completely brick a Find 5 Mini, so be careful.

is there a firmware of R831K??

Do you have a SuperSU or Super User app installed?

Once rooted, either of those apps are needed to grant other apps root access. If they're not installed, apps which require root won't work & root checker will think your device isn't rooted.

OK, R831K is an international version for Asia, like Thailand, India, Malaysia, Philippines, etc. but not mainland China.

This is the ColorOS ROM from Oppo Thailand:

Use this one, NOT the Chinese version ones I posted earlier.

Should just be able to flash it using the Oppo recovery, or is the phone on a TWRP or CWM custom recovery?

Going on what @El Presidente posted, I know when I rooted a ColorOS Oppo Find 7 a while back, it did install the SuperSU correctly. But then a Find 7 is a different device to a Neo 3. There's plenty of good and reliable information about rooting the Find series, not so much for Oppo's many other devices, some of which are China only.

After flashing that ROM you may find it's not rooted now, and should be back to manufacturer's state.

My phone is NOT rooted
, because that's the way I want it at the moment. :thumbsupdroid:

Have you used anything else make you think that it might still be rooted, besides "Root Checker Basic"?

If you do want to root your Neo correctly, apparently it can be done using Framaroot.
