How to force OTA update to 4.4.2

Hi All,

You can force the latest ota by doing the following.

1. Go to settings
2. Press apps And scroll to all apps.
3. Find "Google Services Framework" (it's just over half way down for me).
4. Select "Google Services Framework" stop it and clear the data.
5. Back to settings, about phone' system updates. Press update.

This took me about 10 attempts to work.
Most people get it after about the 3rd or 5th go.

Enjoy

Pretty lame when my 2012 Nexus 7 and both Nexus 4s are on 4.4.2 OTA but my Nexus 5 is still waiting. Really tempted to just sideload it and get it over with. I've done it before on my Nexus 4.. is there any negative to going that route? Why am I waiting?

Sideloading the correct update is identical to doing it OTA, nothing negative about it.

(for future reference, if you dont like waiting).

Please note this method is NOT advised. If you want to force the OTA just sideload it as mentioned previously.

ADB sideload is an official update method supported by google. It will not void your warranty in any way

My trusty Nexus 7 got 4.1.2 yesterday but no sign of an update for my nexus 5 today at 7.30 pm so followed the directions here.
Worked at first attempt with absolutely no problems. Thanks for the help greatly appreciated.:D
