how to get a micro sim from at&t? Also No widgets on other phone?

I'm part of a family plan that does not include a dataplan. I bought the ulocked Zopo Pilot and have been using it as a Wifi only phone. I have no need to be online all the time and hotspots have been fine with me. Also saving the $40.00/mo that at&t put on smartphones.

I have dropped this phone several times and it works fine but sometimes people cannot hear me, sometimes they can. So, I have the Doogee DG2014 as a replacement. But this one requires a micro sims card.

I went to At&t and they said they will not give me a micro sims card unless I show them the phone. They say they need to activate the card and phone?

Anyway, I don't want to cut the card and I don't want to use that adaptor. I know other people from various boards have gotten free sim cards from at&t for free. So how can I do this?

I gave a htm phone to a family member and they wanted to know why it doesn't have widgets and how to add the options of widgets to the ophone?

thanks.

Hi LongLiveZopo, welcome to the site!

I moved your thread to the AT&T forum so more AT&T customers will see it :)

I'm not sure why they won't do it without the phone. I suspect that when they fill the form online to perform a SIM swap, may require the IMEI from the new phone. I also suspect it is to ensure that you are correct about the size SIM you need; as I'm sure they have plenty of people who have claimed to need a "Micro SIM" when their phone actually required a Mini or Nano SIM.

Last, it could be to ensure the phone is a feature phone, as AT&T requires you have a data plan if you are using a smartphone. In this specific case, the person helping you at the store wants to get the commission if you need to have a data plan added to your line.
