How to get At&t to subsidize an Atrix

I have a fairly new Captivate which I bought on December 28. But I already have Atrix envy, thus I want at&t to subsidize a new phone for me. The problem is that my Captivate doesn't have too many problems with it. It feels slow and the battery can't even last a full day since upgrading to froyo. Also, I get terrible reception compared to other at&t phones (blackberries, iphones).

My question is will at&t subsidize the price of a new phone if I try to return it? I don't want them to just give me a new Captivate... I want a new phone. Please do not discuss which phone is better or the morality of the issue.

Don't forget to tell them that the GPS sucks and has almost caused you to get into an accident. They let me upgrade to the Atrix 18 months early for $130. I'll sell the Captivate for more than that on eBay.

well i got my cappy on jan 7th. they told me i had 30 days to return it with no question asked, then 90 days to return it with a restocking fee of $39.99. so id say your within that 90 days still, pay the restock fee and get the atrix... thats if it works the same way in your location?

You can call and do a warranty exchange on the phone, but they will give you another captivate for now. If you warranty exchange THAT captivate, they will give you a choice of other phones. Since the Atrix is brand new, they probably do not have any in the warranty department just yet...just an idea

You have to go through at least 3 captivates before they will offer you another phone. At least that's what they told me. I'm on my third now.
