Help How to get internet without sim card slot?

Android Enthusiast
Hi

1. If I want to buy a tablet that only has the wifi feature (e.g. Samsung S6 Lite Wifi version) and no sim card slot tray, how to use my data sim card to provide wifi/internet to the tablet?

2. Is there some device that I can put my data sim inside then the device will give out wifi signals, so that my tablet can connect to the wifi signal to connect to the internet?

3. Is there some device that I can put my data sim inside then I can connect a cable from the device to the tablet usb port, so that my tablet can connect to the internet?

4. Does this type of device work https://www.amazon.com/300Mbps-Hotspot-Devices-Portable-Business/dp/B0D5R2B6DW/ref=sr_1_14

5. Does this type of device work https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-LTE-Broadband-Modem-LM1200/dp/B08R813HLW/ref=sr_1_8

Thank you

A phone is the obvious one: put the data SIM in and turn on the hotspot. You can also buy dedicated mobile hotspot devices: we're in different countries so probably best you check what's available in your own market, but a search on "portable mobile hotspot" should give you some options.

I know some of these devices have ethernet ports, but that would require an additional adapter to connect to your tablet. I've never done this myself, but USB to Ethernet adapters exist. There may be ones that have USB ports and offer ethernet over USB directly, but the few I've looked at did not.

Personally I find it easier to just use my phone's hotspot when I need to do this type of thing (which for me means when travelling, usually when on a train).
It should do, as a WiFi hotspot. Doesn't look like it offers any other connectivity. Best to check compatibility with your network (though hopefully something sold as an LTE device in the US will work with US networks).

That one is a "modem" only. What that means is that you would need to connect it to a router to get a WiFi connection, though you could probably connect the tablet to it using an ethernet cable and a USB to ethernet adapter (the "probably" is just because, as noted above, I've never tried this).

My question: Where are you planning on using this new tablet?
If from home, does your home already have internet?
If so, your home should have a wifi signal.
Any device can connect to an existing wifi signal without the need for a Sim card at all.

Our quick question is:

Why would you need a sims card since Samsung saves your contacts with wifi?
