Accessories How to get LGG5 Case Smart Windows to Work

GMKuehr

Hello. I bought a generic flip phone case with "smart windows" that do not work. Is there a setting I need to turn on? For instance, it has a square window that should show when someone is calling and another one where I can swipe to answer the call. But when the case is closed and I receive a call, it remains blank. Also, when I shut the case, I am used with my Samsung Galaxy that it would automatically put the phone to sleep, or at least go back to the home page, but with this case, it remains on whatever app I was last using. Any suggestions?

Ah, I contacted the seller and even though the case has windows, they said it is not a "smart case." So I am not sure what the point of the windows is. Now, how do I delete this thread?

Hello there!
Thanks for the feedback! I think it would help others with your issue if the thread remained, just in case they are experiencing the same issue;)
However, if you really want the thread deleted, just hit the report button and request it to be removed ;)

Even generic flip cases for the G5 should still have a magnet in them to activate the smart cover window feature in the phone. Sounds like this one was really cheapo. It's same with Samsung Galaxy phones as well.

There's usually magnet in the cover at the top corner that activates the feature when the case is closed, putting the phone to sleep, but it sounds like this Ebay one doesn't.

Thanks, Mikedt. I always wondered how these cases magically worked. I didn't know about the magnet in the corner thing.

Yes, it was a cheap-o Ebay purchase. It just seems silly that they have windows that don't actually synch up with anything. Oh well, at least it's pretty. lol.
