Help How to get pictures off Galaxy SII with dead screen

Hello all,

My Sprint Galaxy S II screen is not working. The ringer works and I can answer the phone by swiping, and the notifications are going off for emails, texts, etc... but nothing on the screen. If I mess around with it enough by pushing power button, restarting I get a brief view (.5 second) of the screen.

If you know the fix for that -- great!!

Otherwise, how to I retrieve the pics and texts off the phone? I plug in USB and it says no files are there and the SD only has pics from my Epic.

Sounds like you need to take it in to get it repaired. As for your pics, if you have instant upload on, then they are all accessible through your google+ page. If not, then you need to plug it in to a PC, and look for the internal storage, not the external storage. As for your texts, they're stuck AFAIK. You can back them up to your SD card with a bunch of different apps, but you need the screen on to do it.

Have you backed up your phone with Kies? I'd back all the stuff up,get a new phone and download all of it to the new phone.
As a second thought, have you tried a Factory reset? Might be good to try if you haven't, AFTER a backup.
