Help how to get rid of autocorrect

Since i got the new update for android when i go to text this white box pops up. If i misspell a word ill click on i and a white box comes up with more word suggestions. This never used to pop up before. I could just click on the suggested word that shows up on my keyboard. Im not sure if any of that made sense but how do i get rid of the white box?

It depends on the keyboard app you are using. Manufacturers use different keyboards installed on their phones, so it would help if you mention what phone you have. Or ypu can just get a replacement keyboard from the Play Store.
