Help How to get the phone out of dr fone recovery mode?

Aparajith

Hello,
I recently used dr fone to back up some of my data.but after a while i am not able to use my mobile since my phone is still stuck in dr fone recovery mode.earlier the dr fone software used to detect the device when the mobile was connected to the usb .But now the device when connected to the usb the software does not even detect my device even though the computer detects the mobile along with the drivers installed.
I would really appreciate if somebody out here could possibly help me out with this as to how to get out of the recovery mode.is there any other way to do this without getting all of my data wiped out? Thanks and Best regards,

What do you mean by "Dr fone recovery mode"? The phone won't have a special mode for this application, though the application may require it to be in a particular mode. So you mean it is in recovery mode, or it's running Android but Dr fone isn't seeing it? Does that app require USB debugging to be on, for example? If you can say more clearly what mode and state it is in it will be easier to help.

Hi,Thank you for the response!!!Let me explain the situation more clearly!!!i used this software called " Dr fone " which is a software which claims to back up all the data present in the phone. I thought this software is a proper software since when i searched in google as to softwares that back up android devices and this one turned out to be on the top of the list.I downloaded this software and then connected my mobile through the usb of the laptop.the software automatically detected my device and i started backing up my data.but it did not completely back up and it got stuck in the middle.so i automatically took the mobile out of my usb port and inserted it again.this time the software once again detected the mobile and as soon as i opened the software it said "mobile is on recovery mode" "do you want to exit recovery ?"and when i clicked yes it automatically comes out of recovery and the mobile boots normally.Once again i did the same thing but i dont remember if i clicked "do you want to exit recovery?".but now when i want to use my mobile whenever i turn on i see the samsung galaxy note 3 logo and after that i see the logo of doctor fone and under it, it says"your device is still under recovery".and it also says" if you want to come out of recovery you should connect your device to the computer and open the software so that the software could exit recovery my phone" but now in this case the dr fone software is not even detecting my short bricked mobile with the screen of "dr fone logo on it even though the computer is detecting it.because only if it detects the device i could click the exit recovery option and boot the phone normally.I would be really grateful if you could help me out with this.thanks on advance.

Yeuk! So "Dr Fone" has installed something on your phone that is firing up before the phone can finish booting and locking you out. Not nice.

OK, can you boot your phone in "safe mode"? This usually involves pressing some combination of buttons as the phone boots, exactly which buttons will depend on the phone model. Safe mode boots the phone with all third-party software disabled, which is useful if one of your apps is making the phone unstable as it allows you to boot the phone then get rid of the offending app. As long as this thing hasn't wormed its way too deeply into the system that should be possible, the harder part may be identifying everything its installed.

Are you able to interact with the phone at all, e.g. get to the notifications? Can you check whether USB debugging is enabled, because my best guess is that Dr Fone is using that to do its stuff.

Sadly being top of a Google search list only says that either you've spread yourself around the web enough to top the results or that you've paid for your ad to be the first thing people see. Personally I'd have suggested an app called Helium from the Play Store (assuming you are unrooted), which just does backups and doesn't mess around like this.

I did try to start my phone in the safe mode but it doesn't go to safe mode.it only shows the dr fone logo in the screen and below the logo it says that" if the phone is still freezed in recovery ,plug it into the usb of the computer and open the dr fone software".but when i connect this bloody dr fone does not identify my device.I also thought about flashing my rom and installing a custom OS but i fear i would lose all of my data in my phone.

I was a little afraid of that: if this thing was cutting in so early in the boot sequence it wasn't certain that safe mode would be sufficient (though I kinda hoped it would be, because it otherwise implies that Dr Fone has done something more major to your phone software).

Note on what follows, and apologies if you already know this: when I talk about a "custom recovery" I mean a customised replacement for the Android system recovery module. Neither of these is the same as "Dr Fone recovery mode", whatever that is (something Dr Fone has added).

Flashing a custom ROM without losing data depends on whether you already have the stuff you need to flash a ROM, e.g. a custom recovery. But I'm guessing you don't have one of those, because if you had a custom recovery you'd not need Dr Fone to make a backup. If you already have an unlocked bootloader you should be able to fastboot flash a custom recovery (must be built for your particular phone model - very bad things can happen if not), which would then let you backup you current state and install a new ROM. If you haven't then on most devices unlocking the bootloader wipes the device as well (there are exceptions, so worth checking), which would be self-defeating. If you can install a custom recovery without wiping then you can backup your current state then try a new ROM - unless it's very similar to the current one you'll need to do a reset, but you'll have the backup (so can always go back to how you are now), and the paid version of Titanium Backup can extract a lot of information from a recovery backup. If you can find a recovery-flashable stock ROM you can flash that without wiping. Whether flashing a ROM without a wipe will fix this, or whether you'll need a wipe anyway, depends on what exactly Dr Fone has done.

I did try their own website to see whether they had anything. If you look through the comments here (e.g. search for "recovery mode") you'll see that there are a number of other people with the same problem. If they have a solution they aren't posting it publicly in response to questions here, they ask everyone to take it to an email discussion. And one of the replies they did make said, rather ominously, that if you reset your device from recovery (actual Android recovery, not whatever Dr Fone is calling recovery) then Dr Fone won't be able to restore the data.

I had this issue on a samsung s5.

I tried multiple times to recover data and files which would fail and then click exit recovery mode which was not working.

I then uninstalled drfone, re installed dr fone, rebooted pc started the recover data and files which failed but this time it took me to a window where the options where spaced out and in icon's shaped like smartphones one of which was exit recovery mode, I selected it and that time drfone displayed a message saying sending exit message to phone which worked the phone booted fine after that.

Old thread but Came across the same issue with Dr. Fone. Thankfully it was a spare phone which was supposed to recovered+backed up before factory reset anyway..

But what really got me wondering is that Dr fone seemed to have put the phone into download mode with debug and then tried to extract files. Is It possible the software had access to all personal data even if Phone got stuck booting and phone was not rooted?

It seems when check via dr fone transfer showing as mem capacity 2797mb and 1362mb used whereas it should show as 32Gb, also when start up it says Enter your password to start up your device but I am certain I enter correct passwords but it is not verifying. Also in recovery mode it shows No support single sku supported api:3.

And when try backup option no files come up on scan does that mean the Dr fone recovery package that it installed wiped out the data? Or is it like in another different boot system for recovery? How to solve this problem?

Also any backup software you think could backup stuff before applying any drastic fixes
