how to import files from external memory

guys please help!
i just bought samsung galaxy S 4 G. i saved pictures & songs on the external SD card now my phone refusing to display the pictures / songs from the gallary & music player... how can i solve this issue???

Have you tried rebooting, or mount and then un mount the SD card?
