How to kill battery...

Ok so I have a Moto x that the battery is out of phase or whatever it's called... Shuts off with like 45% battery left.. everything I've read says "run battery dead then leave it off n charge it overnight". .. how the heck do you run it dead if it's still got 40%+ on it but shuts off...
Thx

Only thing I can think is leaving it alone for weeks but that's gonna be very inconvenient. Did you try asking Motorola if they can replace the battery for a fee? Another option is replacing it yourself since Moto X gen 1 battery is still available on Amazon but that is risky if you have no experience on repairing.

Lol yea not touching it for a week wouldn't work very well...
Lots of videos on replacing the battery but I'm not tech savy .... This will be the last phone I own with a non-replaceable battery...
