Help How to launch multiple apps in sequence?

Lurker
So, as the title states, I want to use Tasker to launch several apps in sequence. Every morning I open a series of apps (i.e. Facebook, then Twitter, then Palabre for news feeds). I've managed to get it to open Twitter after I close Facebook, but can't figure out how to add Palabre to the sequence. For that matter, I don't see a way to add any more than 2 apps to any sequence.

To summarize: I want a profile that 1) recognizes when I've closed an app and then automatically launches another; then 2) recognize when I've closed that second app and automatically launch a third. I would prefer the profile to be open-ended so that more apps can be added to the sequence if desired.

Is this possible?

Droid Maxx on 4.4.4 (Stock/Not Rooted) - NOTE: Phone cannot be rooted as apparently nobody has ever found a way to crack the bootloader on a Maxx running 4.4.4. As such, any suggestions that I use root functionality are not helpful.

Welcome to Android Forums.

Can you show us what your current profile looks like?

Profile>Application>Facebook
New task > App > Launch App > Twitter

Then set the task as an exit event.

This results in Twitter launching immediately after closing Facebook. That's good, but I'd like it to run three or four apps in sequence like that.

I don't know why you would want to do it ... but ... here it is using chompSMS, Chrome, and Dolphin ...

Profile: A1
Application: chompSMS
Exit: Anon
A1: Launch App [ App:Chrome Data: Exclude From Recent Apps:Off Always Start New Copy:Off ]

Profile: A2
Application: Chrome
Exit: Anon
A1: Launch App [ App:Dolphin Data: Exclude From Recent Apps:Off Always Start New Copy:Off ]

Profile: A3
Application: Dolphin
Exit: Anon
A1: Launch App [ App:chompSMS Data: Exclude From Recent Apps:Off Always Start New Copy:Off ]

Why I want it to do this: Each morning I have a routine of apps that I check, and this allows me to have the next app in the sequence open as soon as I've finished with the prior one. Thus, I don't have to click each app to open it, which would seem to be the definition of automation.

This method seems to work. Though, each task must be set as an Exit to avoid the apps opening simultaneously. Is that what you meant by "Exit: Anon?" Now, one final question. Is there a way to set this group of profiles to only work during a certain time period? That is, in the morning when I'm usually checking them. I may be asking too much of Tasker, but I thought it would be able to handle multiple, conditional processes such as this.

Thank you for this formula though, it definitely works. If you would let me know if a time condition can be added I'd appreciate it.

Oops...nevermind. I had missed the cooldown option under profile settings. That takes care of the timing issue.

Thanks!

They are Exit tasks. The new question is ...

Profile: A0
Time: From 8:00AM
Enter: Anon
A1: Launch App [ App:chompSMS Data: Exclude From Recent Apps:Off Always Start New Copy:Off ]

Profile: A1
Application: chompSMS

This one starts at 8:00 and launches three in order.

What I do is to launch them all at the same time and then use the recent apps rolodex to go back to them. I have four that I access in order eight times a day at different times.

The examples here form me are created by the Export | Description to Email option in Tasker.
