How to play AVIs on Android?

Is it possible to play Divx or Xvid AVIS on android without converting them first? I read something about RockPlayerBase doing it but its been pulled form the market, i found one that has a similar name but it wont play them. Any ideas? I really, really think it's lame if I have to convert them one by one I have a ton, who has room for all that on their HD?!

of the videos i've tried, rockplayer has played them at a low framerate and with the audio out of sync.

moboplayer seems good, it's played everything flawlessly so far and it pretty snappy at starting playback

Have you looked at VitalPlayer? The free version has played all the video files I have thrown at it. The paid version, surprisingly, does not seem to play .flv files.

If they arent playing correctly in Rock Player, you can convert them using the h264 baseline codec, and they will play in the stock player.

True. Then again, why go for a paid app, when there are free alternatives, like MoboPlayer.
