Every time I choose an app to open a link, it automatically becomes my "Default" action with no dialogue box whatsoever (just a notification that it's now my default). I know how to clear these defaults. But I shouldn't have to go into settings to undo that default that every time. Isn't there a way to enable a dialogue box first, like any other OS would?
Here is an example (using one of countless apps as an example): When I host/lead a hiking event for "NW Wilderness" on Meetup.com, I may choose to follow the link from my email invite to open the link within my Meetup app. But that automatically makes the Meetup app my default, with no list of options for future link clicks. I want to prevent this. Thus, if I want to share my group's hiking photos from that app, I am unable to access the photos Meetup webpage... Only the app. Even if I select "View on Website," the photos will only open up in-app. And the shareable link from the app will only prompt people to install the app. Thus, to access a fullscreen/shareable version of those photos on the webpage (even if searching from the Chrome browser) instead of the app, I need to clear the app defaults in Android settings. Every time.
This also happens with my Samsung email app, my Twitter app, Instagram, and others. Even a long-press will not give me "open with" options until I clear all my defaults again. This is not an app-specific issue for me, though your own app-specific mileage my vary.
