Help How to print an email.

Can anyone step me through printing an email? I have my printer set up, but can't find an option to print a photo of a recipe sent to me. How would you print a photo from my gallary also?

When I open an email the menu option are:
Insert smiley
Delete
Set Priority
Add subject
Modify recipients

If I open the picture in the email, there are no menu options.

I have the motoprint app disabled as I don't print from the phone, there may be some setup required there.

Maybe someone with it active can direct you.

I have it enabled.

I could print a document from QuickOffice. I could find no way to print a picture from My Gallery or an e-mail from Qmail.

With your printer, network, and Wi-Fi enabled you need to go to System Settings | Printer settings and Add printer.

After that it is controlled by weather or not you have Wi-Fi on or off.

Pretty useless "feature" then.
I definetly can't get it to work as the manual states.

I have the printer enabled. How did you print from Quickoffice?
When I open quickoffice and browse to an item (a picture) it opens with the stock app and I'm right back where I started.

I am using ICS on a Bionic.

In QuickOffice ...

Open the document (like abc.docx)
Select Menu key
Scroll menu bar to the right
Select Print icon (next to last on right)
Select a printer
Select Print

If you really have a need to print from your phone, there's an app called PrinterShare that works great for printing pictures, contact lists, calendars, web pages, text messages, gmail and documents. The free version has a limit on the amount of prints you can make. There are paid versions for more print capacity. I installed it quite awhile back when I got it as the free app of the day on the Amazon Appstore. It works very well, but to tell you the truth, I've hardly used it at all.

Thanks. That looks like it will work.
I will try when I getr home.

You're right! I'll probably print this one time (for my wife) and never again.

I was able to add my printer share to my phone but was surprised to see that my email app (K-9) doesn't even have a print function.

I don't think it matters what your email account has with Printer Share...the app will find your emails.

I use both Printer Share and HP ePrint apps....that way I can print without networks, cables, or anything...Gmail had an update issue recently that prevented me from downloading PDF's for a few days but it has been fixed.

One thing about printing from phones....the kind of printer you have matters more than anything....right now, HP has the best ones for this because they will connect directly to the phone via WiFi...no networks, routers, and all that.

Which app are you referring to?

Printer Share...paid version.

HP ePrint works wirelessly without a network too...but you have to download attachments to the phone then print them. ePrint will not print an email though...only attachments, which is what I need most of the time.

My printer is in an 18 wheeler...not connected to the internet via an always on connection.

That changes the capabilities of that app a bit...ePrint works great for printing attachments that I can download to the phone (oversize load permits in my case)...

I just realized......Printer Share may only work with Gmail accounts.

So I read the instructions and in order to print wirelessly at all you need to pay $12.95. The free version only allows you to print a test page.

However, it allows for unlimited free printing using Google Cloud Print, which I was unaware of. I set up my Cloud printer and selected it in Printer Share and it worked like a charm. Good to know, as I wasn't willing to pay for something I'll probably rarely use.

Thanks!

I have an Epson wifi connected printer and downloaded Epson iPrint...works like a champ. If I want to print a text message for example..I copy the message with a long press, then paste it into my quickoffice app, and now I can print it since it's a doc.

Now if its an e mail, the print function is right there on the menu key.

With Firefox or Google browsers, when I want to print a web page I am viewing, I usually get thrown back to the site's logon page. And...of course that is not page I wish to print.
I have installed Cloud print, printer share and easy print, all have same problem.
So far the only way I can print is to click the menu icon and select share. Is there a way I can have 1 or more print apps along with share button.

Printer share pro seems to come close to what I want but it doesn't want to print what I'm looking at.
Easy print seems to expect me to save what I wish to print before it will print.
Cloud print[not pro version] also seems to force me to identify the file I want to print.

My tablet & printer
Nexus 10,Canon mx860 [on my Wi-Fi local net]
Am I using these apps incorrectly?
