how to recover lost pictures/videos

hi guys, i have a galaxy note 5 and lost some pictures and videos i would like to recover. ive tried googling and i get brought to page after page of downloading software that never works. the computer never seems to recognize my device or the phone isnt a supported device.
can someone please help me or even tell me if there is actually a way to do this????

I guess it depends on how they were lost. Did you inadvertently delete them? In that case, there's not much you can do.

Add : If you don't restore lost pictures as soon as possible , you'll lose your chance

Check in Google Photos online. I think Download to Google Photos is enabled unless you purposely turned that off. I've still got pictures from my G1 and Samsung Galaxy S2 on that site. So they stay there a good long time. Did you ever turn that off?
