Android Question

I purchased a Model AX105 Tablet 6 months ago and it will not take any updates to the o/s.
It has always run very slow in everything it does. I believe the OS may be corrupted.
It came with Android Ver. 4.2.2 and Firmware Ver 3.0.1

It appears that there are more up to date versions of the OS. How can I reload the tablet with new OS...either via wifi .... or through connection to my Windows 7 desktop via cable.??

Thanks....

If that is the iRulu AX105 10.1" tablet (the commonest search result I got for "ax105 tablet") that's actually a rather low spec device, so I'm afraid that running slow might be normal (though one video I saw while searching seemed to show one running OK). It's obviously hard for us to judge as we've not seen it. I would normally suggest a factory reset (after backing up!), but as you say it was that way from the start I don't think that's the answer.

Normally if an update is made for a device you download and install it over the air: Settings > About > Software Updates. But you say "it will not take any updates": do you mean that there is an update there but you cannot install it, or the system doesn't show any updates available? If there is an update but you cannot install it then please give us more information. If there is no update shown, the most likely answer is that the manufacturer has not distributed one. Low-cost devices like this rarely get updates, so I suspect that is the answer.

Which leads to the second question: if the system isn't showing an update available, why do you think there is one? (If it is showing one and you can't install it then it's obvious why you think that! ;) ). Updates are specific to the device, so I'm afraid the fact that a different model of device has a newer version doesn't mean it's possible to update yours. If you have found somewhere which suggests there is one, that is a good place to start in finding out how to get it - if so, can you tell us where, since my (admittedly quick) web search didn't find anything.

(Sorry if a lot of that is saying stuff you know - it's hard to judge from a couple of lines of a post).
