Does anyone knows how to retrieve back deleted media files from Galaxy S3? I am currently using a macbook, macbook pro, and a Windows 7 laptop. I plugged the USB in my S3.. it showed me on my Galaxy S3 Screen "USB PC connection: Media Device (MTP) or Camera (PTP)" I checked on the MTP. Used Stellar phoenix photo recovery. It just not able to load it up in Stellar.. and that i ve tried dl-ing USB mass storage in my phone, but i am not able to find it.
Please Advise.. asap as i have alot of memories medias in the phone that i haven even had the chance to back it up..

First Step: What caused the deletion of the files? Did you do it manually or did an application do it?

Are you sure they are still not on the SD Card?

Yes, it is because i was able to retrieve the deleted files when i pluggin the SD card into the card reader and used Stellar to run. But for the deleted files that was saved in the S3 was not able to retrieve, which i don't understand why. And all the required App i ve dl-ed...

You say you've saved files to the S3 directly?

That probably isn't possible since most pictures and videos save directly to the SD Card.

Are they definitely missing from the Gallery app? Have you downloaded a File Browser and checked through there as well?

Yep the recovery tools are your only bet and they dont have much of a success rate either.

External recovery tools only work on sdcards. Not internal memory because it doesn't mount the memory as a drive.

Basically try your luck with one of the android recovery tools but bear in mind they wont be very good so don't get conned into paying for one.

Other than that, all I can offer is preventative advice. Back up!

You can backup photos and videos automatically with drop box. For everything else check out foldersync. You can sync your entire sd with a NAS or a computer that's always on, or even dropbox.

I have my entire internal and external sd sync'd to my NAS every night as I sleep. I never lose a thing

You can recover deleted media straight from the androids storage device but you do need some software to do it. I believe they are android data recovery tools that can do this.

How To Recover Deleted Files From Android Device | Recover iPhone Files

The site shows you how to recover files for the iPhone and iPod too.

The link you provide states you connect in USB Storage mode. The S3 or any Android phone running JB 4.1.1 can no longer connect as USB Storage without being rooted and doing some other magic to make it happen.
